Hello and welcome!
Susie hosting the blog today and we are taking another trip into mixed media! Today I am sharing an encaustic panel I created using paper from the Serenade Collection!
The template does create a slight overlap of the polaroid images, but it is very simple to trim them out and square them up.
I added a piece of ribbon from a Quick Quotes Ribbon Grab Bag behind the photo and finished things off with washi tape and a charm from my stash.
Quick Quotes Supplies:
Serenade 100 Ribbon Grab Bag
Canon Printer:
Canon Pixma TS6020
Other Supplies:
Encaustic, Panel, Papers, Washi Tape, Metal Charm and Brad
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find some time to play today!

Susie hosting the blog today and we are taking another trip into mixed media! Today I am sharing an encaustic panel I created using paper from the Serenade Collection!
- Encaustic is a wax based paint (composed of beeswax, resin and pigment) that is kept molten on a heated palette.
- It is applied to an absorbent surface and then reheated to fuse the paint and layers.
- It is also known as hot wax painting.
- I started with a 5"x 5" panel and a layer of clear encaustic.
- I tore a piece of Serenade 100 paper into a 4.75" square and centered it on the panel.
- I added another layer of encaustic and fused it together.
- Encaustic is all about layering!
- I added a small square of complimentary paper from my stash.
- I wanted to keep things simple so I just added one more pop of color by applying blue encaustic through a piece of punchinella.
Don't you just love the dimension?
- I buffed the surface and set it aside as I started to work on my photo.
- The Canon Pixma TS6020 comes with Image Garden Software.
- Last month I created a photo collage using the Travel & Leisure 9 template.
- I was able to create a collage with 5 photos and custom journaling and print the whole thing out as a 5"x7" photo, which I then used on this layout.
- I am using the same template this month to achieve a different look.
- In the template, the photos look like mini polaroids.
- I often use small photos in my projects and this template is a brilliant way to quickly create those pictures with the added bonus of custom journaling!
I created the collage and printed it out as a 5" x 7".
