Canvas Project with Karan!

Good Morning Scrappy Friends!  Karan here today to share my project with you

Did you know that Quick Quotes has some awesome canvas? Today I am showing you what I did what a flat board 12x12 canvas from Quick Quotes and the new Cracklin Rose line. You know how I enjoy using mists on projects, so I had seen a video with Jen Matott where she had made mists from gelatos (faber castell) and I thought, hmm, I wonder if I can apply this same idea to the chalk inks that Quick Quotes manufactures. (A tutorial i will share another time) and it worked!

I now have all my favorite chalk inks, in mist colours.  Some of which I used here on this canvas.  So here is my canvas:

The new Cracklin' Rose line is simply fabulous for all kinds of projects.  I feel this line suits heritage photos beautifully.  This is a photo of my grandparents (no date on photo), but gathering how young they look, I'm guessing this photo is from the 60's)

I used my mists on the background (Mocha Mama and Lemon) along with a template from Crafters Workshop.  I used the mists on the two flowers that I have on the project (Mocha Momma and Mango Mai Tai).  Part of the challenge for July is to use a punch or a die on our projects.  The flowers are a five petal punch from EK Success.

I punched each flower twice, misted them with my new made mists, heat set to dry, put into shape, then dipped them in versa mark, covered in embossing powder and heat set again.  The floral border at the bottom of the layout, is also a punched border with one of the Martha Stewart deep punches.

The hearts are from a Sizzix heart die which I cut from felt. The large heart on my tag, is traced from a chipboard heart I have in my stash.  I stamped with Mocha Mama and dipped in clear embossing powder while still wet, and then heat set it to dry.

I hope you have enjoyed my second introduction to Cracklin' Rose.
