Friday Challenge 15 and NSD Hop!

National Scrapbooking Day/Weekend
Celebration Blog Hop

Friday Challenge 15 for May!

Happy Friday Quick Quotes fans!  Christine here to host the blog and kick off our Friday Challenge 15!  You're going to need your scissors for this one and we have a fun reveal for you this month as well.

I love to fussy cut my patterned paper. I think it is a great way to take the same paper that others are using and make it your own unique creation. In fact I regularly buy paper just so I can cut it up. Fussy cutting can be done simply by cutting a shape out of the patterned paper directly.

This paper has a lots of beautiful flowers that you can leave be or do as I did, cut them out and make a whole new design with them.  The possibilities are limitless...  don't get me started on curling, folding, or using foam adhesives!  It's a very fun technique to try that doesn't require any special tools.

Now that I've whet your appetite, here is the hop sequence so you can see the full reveal of what the design team has created to give you some inspiration for National Scrapbooking Day and our challenge!

Leave a final comment with your favorite project or tip here!

Of course, what's a Blog Hop without a fun prize?!!!

The hop was wonderful. My fav; wow there are so many. The birdhouse is a fav. The layouts with the fussy cutting of the flowers give such wonderful dimension to the creation. My fav paper is the Summer Samba which I won some of & made some wedding layouts of a beach wedding in Maui. Received my order of more Summer Samba & Tin so now I can make more & give the fussy cutting of the flowers a try.

Wow,all the designers had such wonderful layouts and tips. My favorite designer was Rhonda. Her layout was amazing. My favorite tip was to ink the fussy cut flowers for more dimension and QQ new powder puff chalks are amazing.
What a fun ho. Love hops like yours, informative, inspirational and fun.

I really enjoyed the blog hop! Some really gorgeous projects! My favorite was Misty's love that color she got on the vellum, and what a great quote!

Loved the blog hop and all the projects using fussy cutting. I have to say that my favorite was Barb Crafts' Kauai layout but they were all beautiful.

Okay, so my favorite layout is Rhonda's. She brought in so many elements & techniques; stitching, pockets, fussy cutting, vellu, & inking. My favorite tip was the misting & curling technique on the Just Jackson paper. Please forgive me for the memory lapse on your name :(. I thought my favorite paper line was Copper Kettle, but after seeing all the amazing projects using Summer Samba, it has tied for my favorite paper line. Thank you QQ for the fun hop & the amazing talent of your design team. Kudos!!!

Thanks for the hop! My favorite would have to be Marcia Dehn-Nix's. I simply loved the colors she used and the techniques she encorporated into her layout. I can't get over how smoothly everything blends together!
Thanks QQ!

My first time doing a blog hop!! I am very new to scrapbooking and had never seen the "fussy cutting" technique, I love it. I got so many good tips and ideas!! Thank you!!

Never thought I'd try cutting things out of patterned paper because I've only seen it done with flowers and that doesn't suit my taste or style. But I love seeing the other shapes. The stars looked great!

What an amazing blog hop. I saw so many wonderful and creative projects and layouts. My fav is Julie Walton's fuzzy cut flowers. I liked the way she cut the petals and then used pop dots for dimension. Thanks for sharing so much talent with us and the chance to win.

This was such a great hop and every project rocked! One favorite? That is a hard choice to make but I was totally captivated by Misty's project. I'm happy to be a follower.

Hi Alwayscharlie! You can always shop at the online store or to help locate a store near you there is a "store locator" feature on the upper right corner of the site as well.

Hope this helps and happy shopping to you!!!

I loved all the projects - Adora's paper conre was great and the bird house was stunning, and the wall habging... but I think the tip I will remember and take away is using pearls in the middle of my flowers!

I am actually not a fan of fussy cutting but these projects were all so great!! And, inspiring me to give it a try. Hard to pick a favorite - I think Misty's by just a hair. Love that it's a canvas project and how the fussy cutting adds such great dimension and interest. Thanks!

Debi this an awesome layout!! One of your best! I love the content and all your "fussy cuts". Even the line up from original picture to current one...great idea!

Did not see an indication if only 1 entry was allowed so I entered a 2nd. In this 2nd entry I fussy cut a digi of a girl holding a balloon. Fussy cut her on flesh cardstock, cut her dress out & then layered her on blue cardstock. Pleae let me know if multiple entries are allowed or not.
