Mini Album Inspiration with Karan

Greetings Scrapping Girlfriends!

Karan here today to share a project with you. This was part of the Club Q kit from December. My friend Lynn Shaffer gave me permission to scrapbook her family photos again so finding photos, is often, half the battle when it comes to craft projects. Here is part of the cover of the bag album!

The bag album--what a fabulous idea to incporate a 6x6 flatboard canvas in this kit. blues and browns blend so beautifully it really helps make it easy to dig in and get started. To start off with, the entire bag was misted with solar gold radiant rain, both inside and out, as well so was the 6x6 canvas. I then sewed a 6x10 canvas page on the inside to help give the album a bit more stability. ( you cannot see the sew lines until you flip the bag over.

Warm winter wishes was cut into a banner style, and i cut a banner point into them. the border was punched using a Ek Succes 2 in 1 interlocking circle/flower, once i punched one side, i turned the paper over and punched the other side and i ended up with that border, I used Tahiti on the edges.

The xo was cut from a Tim Holtz sizzlit banner. and inked with Tahiti Chalk Ink.

The snowflakes were first stamped with a script stamp using Amaretto PowderPuff Chalk Ink, I then inked heat set to dry, misted with Solar Gold Radiant Rain, and once dry, inked lightly with Tahiti PowderPuff Chalk Ink.

Here is what the inside of the album looks like. You can barely see the canvas, but it's there. I cut the large photo mats from the pre printed paper, put them through a Cuttlebug embossing folder and sanded the top. Since the core was white, the sanding allowed the core to come through.

On the left page, I attached the photo to a 4x8 tag, after scoring the tag at 2", my friend Lynn, now has the chance to add more photos or journaling of her own once you open the photo tag here is what it looks like.

I used my EK Success two point flag punch and punched some flags ( i call them banners) inked with Mocha Mama, used the primite heart die from Sizzix and white cardstock. the canvas heart is from basically bare. the right page was pretty much done the same way, using the two point flag punch and a primitive heart die, all inked with Mocha Mama.

Here are some detail images...
