Happy Friday to you!  I'm super excited to be part of this fun hop between Clear Scraps and Quick Quotes!!!  I received this beautiful "Send It Clear" card with a bell closure.  The Cracklin' Rose collection seemed like the perfect compliment to this project.

I decided to use a bit of Glitter Modge Podge on the backs of my front bell closure pieces to simulate the feel of snow and ice.  You'll see the snowflakes and angel that were stamped with a bit of White Staz-On ink to give a bit of interest and texture to my card.  The glitter effect is very pretty but a little tricky to photograph.

I've adorned the bell with some ribbon at the top, a touch of bling and a button on the bottom.

The inside of my card...  I used the "Dreaming of a White Christmas"
Itty Bitty Vellum Quote and inked behind the vellum.

Here's the back of my card, all ready to address!

You can see I lined the right panel of my card so that the sentiment is totally obscured from the front when closed.  I thought it was a nice surprise.  There is still room on that right panel to include a cute Christmas photo too!

The Cracklin' Rose collection is so rich and elegant, it was perfect for this project!!!

Marcia Dehn-Nix

Hello Quick Quotes friends! Marcia here to host the blog today and I am so excited to share with you my Quick Quotes/Clear Scraps project! This was my first time using Clear Scraps acrylic, but you can bet it will not be the last. I LOVE this stuff!

I am using the Gingerbread Man Clear Scraps Keychain Album along with some Cracklin' Rose papers and the perfect vellum quote. To tie in with the quote, I decided to use my Epiphany Crafts heart shaped tool and showcase my family in hearts.

Here is how I created this....
  • I traced the gingerbread man onto my Cracklin' Rose paper and cut him out.
  • Then I inked the edges with Mocha Mama ink.
  • Before I glued it to one side of the acrylic, I inked my gingerbread man with alcohol inks.
  • Some copper metallic gives it a sparkling sheen. I love that you can see the paper through the acrylic.
  • My Imaginsce D-Stress tool helped me clean up the paper edges to line up perfectly with the acrylic.
  • I punched a couple holes so I could attach my vellum quote.
  • The face was stamped with a Peachy Keen stamp in white Staz On, but I wasn't happy with it.
  • I wanted the white to really stand out so I went over it with my white Sharpie fine point paint marker. Tip:  This works better if you use the marker on the side that is not inked, otherwise it mixes with the ink and is more light brown.
Here are a few more pages of my album....

I am sad that this week is over. I had so much fun hopping with you girls. I think gingerbread people are so cute and wish they can be used year round, instead of just during the holidays. They look so yummy, even though they are plastic, I still want to eat them. Thank you so much for all the projects of the week.
