Cracklin' Rose Inspiration with Jen

Hi all!  Jen here to host the blog for you today.

I know it’s only October, but it’s never too early to start thinking about Christmas!!  I created a layout using the new Cracklin' Rose Paperline.  The first page of my layout is based on the October sketch by our very own Karan Gerber...

By the way, it's also our challenge inspiration for the month too!!!:
Sketch

All of my papers were inked with Maraschino Cherry PowderPuff Chalking Ink.  I used several Cracklin' Rose Paperstrips below my photo as well as one in the top left corner.

To create the banners, I simply notched the bottom of 4 rectangles and wrapped torn pieces from the Twas the Night Before Christmas Vellum Strip around each banner.  I then added small buttons in between each of the banners.

And... because I am a “two page scrapper”, I had to create a second page to go along with the sketch!  Here is a side-by-side view of both pages:

The second page is fairly simple.  I layered several of the papers and added a few more Cracklin' Rose Paperstrips

Here is a little background information on the photos.  Every year we have a Christmas card photoshoot with my kids.  These are some of the shots from 2009.  I’m hoping this tradition will last, but I may have to do a little bribery since my oldest has turned 18 this year!

Wow! Beautiful layout! The pictures are too cute and I love the way you created a second page to go with the sketch! I also like the idea of wrapping the vellum around the banner!
