Private Reserve... What is it? HUGE GIVEAWAY!

Hi there Quick Quotes friends! Jen Sodowsky here today to chat with you about the Quick Quotes Private Reserve!

I must say that I am a big supporter of Scrapbook Conventions, crops, scrappy get togethers, etc.  I count down the days until the next one with my excitement building as the days get closer.  I have always been a fan of Quick Quotes, so you can imagine my excitement when they announced they were having a Private Reserve in my home state.  That was three years ago and I have attended their Private Reserves every year since then.

For those who have never been to a Private Reserve, I’d like to give you a little insight into this fun filled “scrappy” weekend.  The PR’s begin on Friday.  For those fanatics (like me) who want their weekend to start early, then make sure you sign up for the bonus classes that begin that morning.
  • The bonus classes cover a range of scrapbook layouts, mini albums and a beautiful canvas piece.  The actual “Kick-Off” crop doesn’t start until 7, but I always like to get there early not only for the bonus classes, but to beat the rush, shop the Quick Quotes store that is on location and to start making my mini workshop items.
  • Did I mention that the mini workshops are included in your registration!  You move from station to station making all kinds of scrappy goodness!
  • In the past, I have made little purses that hold candy, beautiful fan fold flowers, layouts, nametags, glimmer misted canvas, and the list goes on!
  • Not only are you making some super cute stuff, but you are also learning new techniques from the start!

The “Kick-Off” crop begins at 7pm on Friday. As you enter the ballroom, you are given a Quick Quotes bag filled with all kinds of goodies!  My suggestion is to bring extra bags, because the extra large Quick Quotes bag that you are given will be overflowing with stuff by the end of the weekend!  I’m not kidding when I say that I had to have 3 bags to carry all of my stuff home last year.  For those who did not attend the Bonus Classes, your first class will actual begin the night of the crop.

Let me talk a little about the classes.  I have been to plenty of classes where I have made projects and layouts and I have came home with some beautiful things.  But if you have ever attended a Quick Quotes class, then you know that they are pretty unique.  You actually learn some cool techniques during the classes.

I consider myself a fairly advanced scrapper and I must say that every PR weekend has taught me some new things that I have used over and over in my scrapping.  Now who doesn’t love to learn new things?!!

  • Most of the classes are between 1 – 1 ½ hours long.
  • Overhead projectors are used so you can follow along step by step.
  • There are also lots of classroom volunteers walking around with finished projects and to help you should you have a question.
  • At the end of each class, there is a break, so you have some extra time if you didn’t finish your project or you can use this time to leave your seat without fear that you are going to miss something!  I love this format!

The Friday and Saturday evening crops last until Midnight. During this time, there are some fun (and sometimes wacky) contests that are played.  There are tons of giveaways, not only during the crop, but all through the entire weekend!  There is plenty of crop time and the second night includes a Charity Auction.  If you are familiar with the Quick Quotes family, then you know that they are always helping various charities throughout the year.  The Charity Auctions during all of the PR’s for that year will help a family in need and you get to hear their story. Love this!

Saturday and Sunday are filled with classes!  I have made beautiful double page layouts, a canvas clock and wall décor, mini albums and more!  One day is also dedicated to working on a gorgeous 20 page 12x12 album.  Your registration also includes a wonderfully scrumptious catered lunch on both Saturday and Sunday.  And you will not want to miss the performance that is put on by the Quick Quotes crew.  I must say that I have not spent a weekend laughing this hard in a long time!

Last year I also had the pleasure of meeting Teresa Collins as she taught one of the classes that included a stunning canvas album using one of her paperlines.  This year, the guest instructor is Ken Oliver from Spellbinders who will be teaching a card class.  I can’t wait!

As the PR comes to a close, a slide show is shared with everyone as a recap of the weekends events.  It’s a great time to watch all the fun that the attendees had that weekend.  Last but not least, let’s talk about the final grand prizes!  There is a table that is FILLED with prizes.

Last year, Quick Quotes gave away:
  • Several Canon Print Stations
  • Totes with scrapbook products
  • Spellbinders Grand Calibers
  • and a finale grand prize that included a HUGE tote of scrappy goodies!
This year’s Private Reserves will be held in St. Louis, MO, Grand Mound, WA, Palm Springs, CA, Austin, TX, Atlanta, GA, and York, PA.  Click Here to check out all of the details. I will be attending St. Louis this year and I have already started counting down the days!!
