Greetings Quick Quotes friends! Jen here today to host the blog.
It seems that I have been on a mini album creation kick this month! Here is one that is a little different. It’s an accordion album that has inserts instead of pages that have been bound together.
I started off by creating the “accordion” first. I used two 12”x8” papers that I folded back and forth in 1” increments. At every other fold, I added a 6”x8” white piece of cardstock to create the dividers for my book. Here you can see the inside of the book with the pages or inserts in each of the dividers.
I then decorated the outside of my book.
Next, I began decorating the inserts for the album. I used a heavy piece of cardstock for each of the inserts and added photo mats, brads, vellum quotes, stamping, buttons, and flowers to each side of the cardstock inserts.
I used a 2 ½” circle punch to reinforce where the ribbon pulls were added to each end of the inserts. I folded the circles in half and wrapped them around each page, punched a hole and added ribbon.

I then decorated the outside of my book.
- I covered two pieces of chipboard with Quick Quotes Just Because Paperline.
- On the front cover, I added a green ribbon before attaching a Vellum Quote with brads.
- I inked the edges of each of the flowers with Mocha Mama PowderPuff Chalking Ink and stacked them on top of one another before adding a brown button to the centers.
- I also inked the edges of all of my papers and vellum.
- I then glued each of the finished chipboard pieces to the front and back of the accordion folded piece.
- I used a Cinch binding machine to punch holes at the edge of the album and inserted the wire rings to hold the end of the album together.
- I finished off the outside of the album by tying different colored ribbons to the wire rings.
