Heritage Project with Guest Designer - Anne

Monday greetings crafty friends!

Anniebee, your Guest Designer for January here with a heritage project to share!!!  I created another layout using the papers from the Damsel in Distress collection.

Quick Quotes paper collections are perfection coordinated and make gorgeous layouts appropriate for a wide variety of different themes. I love the quality and weight of the paper and the colors are magnificent. For this layout, I used a photo of one of my great aunts on my mother’s side, who I barely remember.

As I love the Victorian and Edwardian eras, I was excited at the prospect of using one of my old family photos in combination with the Damsel in Distress line. These papers lend themselves perfectly to family heritage or vintage style projects.

As with my first layout, I inked the edges of the Damsel in Distress paper with dark tan chalk ink. I also used a little of it on the tag as well as the crocheted lace to give them a faux aged patina. I colored in the butterflies on the paper with Copic markers in a couple of shades of orange.

I double-matted the photo on metallic silver and matte black cardstock. I then reduced the size of a photo of one of my great uncles to fit the little metal frame as seen in the photos.
The resin heart with the roses and ribbon was plain white and I wanted a pop of color on that side of the page to balance the design so I colored it with Copics. I simply arranged everything on the page until I liked the way it looked and then adhered each piece in place with Beacon’s 3 in 1 Glue or Scotch ATG tape. I like the way it turned out… a lot!

Love Love! I'm in the process of making remembrance albums of my mom and dad and I have a picture of a butterfly sitting on my moms head. This is the perfect idea for scrapping that photo!
